For the past ten days, we have been trying to teach them the history of Vietnam and Cambodia.  A huge part of the history is the fact that both were colonies of France (Indochina) for roughly a century between 1858 and 1954. The kids seem to follow much of the history, but they have seemed to forget the French.  We solved that problem today. We bought them 6 fantastic French pastries that were of Parisian quality.  Suddenly, they remember the French presence. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443670-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1362-200x300.jpg?width=200&height=300&name=dsc_1362-200x300.jpg "DSC_1362")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1362.jpg) We saw color. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443750-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1369-200x300.jpg?width=200&height=300&name=dsc_1369-200x300.jpg "DSC_1369")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1369.jpg) Unknown foods. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443795-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1376-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1376-300x200.jpg "DSC_1376")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1376.jpg) Some exotic ingredients.. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443810-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1370-200x300.jpg?width=200&height=300&name=dsc_1370-200x300.jpg "DSC_1370")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1370.jpg) Ginseng root that looks like a reject from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443825-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1378-200x300.jpg?width=200&height=300&name=dsc_1378-200x300.jpg "DSC_1378")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1378.jpg) And some less appealing fare. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443840-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1364-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1364-300x200.jpg "DSC_1364")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1364.jpg) [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443880-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1365-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1365-300x200.jpg "DSC_1365")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1365.jpg) We could deal with the misc mammal parts, but the following image really bothered us a lot.  The Vietnamese believe that turtle blood helps male virility.  As you might guess, this is NOT good news for the turtles. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443955-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1377-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1377-300x200.jpg "DSC_1377")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1377.jpg) We also saw some safe practices.  This guy is welding using the safety goggles that he was born with. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412443970-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1299-200x300.jpg?width=200&height=300&name=dsc_1299-200x300.jpg "DSC_1299")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1299.jpg) Liam Making Friends While we walked the city, we saw a few photo shoots.  One was for classy evening wear. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412444000-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1336-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1336-300x200.jpg "DSC_1336")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1336.jpg) One was clearly focused on wedding dresses.  The model looked tired and bored.  Liam tried to cure that. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412444015-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1306-200x300.jpg?width=200&height=300&name=dsc_1306-200x300.jpg "DSC_1306")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1306.jpg)   Wiley Hits It Big I could write a lot about this, but let the picture speak for itself. [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412444035-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1356-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1356-300x200.jpg "DSC_1356")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1356.jpg) Another Nice Shot of the Girls [![](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-412444085-jpg/blog-files/dsc_1317-300x200.jpg?width=300&height=200&name=dsc_1317-300x200.jpg "DSC_1317")](http://files.campchampions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/DSC_1317.jpg) Until tomorrow.
