--- title: Cool Drinks and Fun Cards description: We continue to provide variety and coolness to camp. I also want to share a fun card. image: https://blog.campchampions.com/hubfs/IMG_8711.jpg --- [Register Online](https://champions.campintouch.com/ui/forms/application/camper/App) [Camp Champions](https://www.campchampions.com/) # Camp Champions Blog # Cool Drinks and Fun Cards Posted by [Steve Baskin](https://blog.campchampions.com/author/steve-baskin) on Jul 23, 2018 5:40:42 PM ![Steve Baskin](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/file-377256139-jpg/Head_Shot_Profile/SteveSir.jpg) Find me on: [LinkedIn](http://www.linkedin.com/pub/steve-baskin/11/a98/107) [Twitter ](https://twitter.com/steve_sir)   ![IMG_8713](https://blog.campchampions.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_8713.jpg?width=4032&name=IMG_8713.jpg) As I mentioned, we are being extra creative dealing with the weather. I am happy to report that the temperatures are expected to drop 8-9 degrees, which will be a huge boost for us.   I am including a photo of our Kona Ice surprise today. The kids LOVED it.   I also want to let you know that our children are so much more resilient than we tend to think they are. While Susie Ma’am and I are fretting about heat mitigation, we cannot keep campers off the fields and pickleball courts. We are insisting on hydration, but also marveling at how happily active they remain.   ![IMG_8426](https://blog.campchampions.com/hubfs/IMG_8426.jpg)   We also broke out a slip and slide. I loved these as a child. It is nice to know that the world of video games and social media has not changed the appeal of the simple pleasures.   Steve Sir     ![Fun card](https://blog.campchampions.com/hubfs/Fun%20card.jpg) PS Having shared the serious letter from our West Point cadet, I thought I would share a card from the less-serious end of the continuum. I love letters like this one! ### Subscribe to Email Updates ### Recent Posts ### Posts by Topic - [General (221)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/general) - [Parents (103)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/parents) - [Camper (86)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/camper) - [Counselor (73)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/counselor) - [Alumni (48)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/alumni) - [Summer Camp (20)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/summer-camp) - [Campers (10)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/campers) - [Yearbooks (10)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/yearbooks) - [success (10)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/success) - [growth (9)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/growth) - [camp (8)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/camp) - [21st century skills (6)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/21st-century-skills) - [digital anxiety (6)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/digital-anxiety) - [parenting (6)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/parenting) - [skills (6)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/skills) - [social media (6)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/social-media) - [Counselor Training (5)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/counselor-training) - [cell phones (5)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/cell-phones) - [independence (5)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/independence) - [Counselors (3)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/counselors) - [confidence (3)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/confidence) - [Goofy (2)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/goofy) - [Off Season (2)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/off-season) - [homesick and happy (2)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/homesick-and-happy) - [memories (2)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/memories) - [Scholarship Fund (1)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/scholarship-fund) - [camperships (1)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/camperships) - [donations (1)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/donations) - [golden oldie (1)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/golden-oldie) - [scholarships (1)](https://blog.campchampions.com/topic/scholarships) [see all](https://blog.campchampions.com/cool-drinks-and-fun-cards#) ![Steve Baskin](https://blog.campchampions.com/hubfs/Campchampions%20February2018/image/steve-baskin_small.jpg) ## steve baskin The Camp Geek [steveb@campchampions.com](mailto:steveb@campchampions.com) ![Susie Baskin](https://blog.campchampions.com/hubfs/Campchampions%20February2018/image/susie-baskin_small.jpg) ## susie baskin The Camp Mom [susieb@campchampions.com](mailto:susieb@campchampions.com) Camp Champions 775 Camp Road, Marble Falls, TX 78654 p: [(830) 598-2571](tel:1-830-598-2571) f: [(830) 598-1095](tel:1-830-598-1095) [info@campchampions.com](mailto:info@campchampions.com) © Camp Champions 2018
