Recently, I was listening to a podcast about a book called the Stoic Challenge. In it, the author suggested that we should each resolve that we will not allow circumstances to lead to personal suffering. We cannot control the world around us, but we can choose to avoid being defeated by it.
One of the keys to life is to celebrate both the grand and the subtle. We should find small joys in each day. Today, I want to tip my hat to two such joys.

As I talk with returning campers and counselors, I hear many messages, but two stand out as different from the past.
Last night, we gathered at the boys’ sail point for Vespers. [Note: Susie Ma’am ran Vespers for the girls on the girls’ sail point. As I was with the boys, I can only report on ours. I am certain hers was more insightful and lovely. I know that she talked about the 6 things that mentally strong people do:
